Koreans use their own unique alphabet called Hangul. This alphabet was created under King Sejong (1418-1450) during the Choson Dynasty. The phonetic alphabet consists of eleven vowels and fourteen consonants, which represent every sound in the Korean language. Even today it is considered to be one of the most efficient alphabets in the world. Korean is read from left to right and from the top of the page to the bottom.

An Introduction to Korean

Introduces the Korean alphabet, basic conversational phrases, common vocabulary, and grammar.
